For over a decade, Chris Padgett has been traveling the world spreading his ministry of truth by using the power of music. A brilliant Christian songwriter, musician, speaker, and worship leader, Chris’s mission is to communicate the truth of Christ’s love and forgiveness in a way that makes a difference in the lives of children and adults.
A founding member of Scarecrow and Tinmen, Chris wrote, recorded and toured with this popular Christian band for seven years before starting his own solo career. Chris’s ministry has led him to become a commanding presence and performer at three World Youth Days (Rome, Toronto, Cologne), as well as being a veteran speaker and performer at popular youth and youth ministry conferences including NCYC and NCCYM. Chris has been an avid TV and radio personality appearing on “Life on the Rock” and “Living His Life Abundantly” on EWTN, as well as being the subject of dozens of radio interviews throughout the country.
Among all his accomplishments, some would argue that his marriage and commitment to his family are his greatest virtues. Chris and his wife Linda were high school sweethearts who have now been married for over 20 years. With nine children, Chris proclaims that he is “graced to spend this time with my best friend. Touring around the country is cool, but having the stability of my family at home has been the backbone of this apostolate.”
Chris and Linda have published a book together, Not Ready for Marriage, Not Ready for Sex: One Couple’s Return to Chastity (St. Anthony Messenger Press). Chris has also published several other books and talks including Spirituality You Can Live With and Wholly Mary: Mother of God (Servant Books).
Known for his zany sense of humor and his love for books, Chris is a “very zealous” convert to Catholicism. He and his family entered the church on Easter of 1999. He holds a master’s degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, and has begun doctoral work in Marian studies at the International Marian Research Institute in Dayton, Ohio.
